His voice melts me.” – Rosemary Clooney \nNoah has delighted audiences with his marvelous voice from the age of 7 when he sang with the Boy’s Chorus with solo’s in La Boheme and performed in Carmen\, Boris Gudenov and Turandot. As a teenager\, he was signed to a record label and performed on the bill with the Shirelles. Later\, in college\, he sang with the famed Jubilee Singers and performed a solo with the Philadelphia Philharmonic in a production of Porgy and Bess. While in grad school\, he sang with the Harvard University Choir\, in nightclubs in and around Cambridge and sang solo with Duke Ellington. Noah has appeared in New York\, Boston\, London\, Rome\, and Paris as well as a 6 month run at the Fairmont in San Francisco. For 10 years\, he was the soloist for the Walt Tolleson Big Band.  \nAfter a 35-year day job in media\, politics\, and government\, Noah turned to music full time. He formed The Cole Porter Society to raise the musical literacy of our youth through outreach programs\, scholarships\, and performances. Recent productions include: Frank Sinatra at 100\, The Lost Songs of Cole Porter\, The Cole Porter Society Salutes Ed Sullivan\, Kiss Me Kate and The Cole Porter Society Salutes Motown! Noah also wrote the official ballad of the Golden Gate Bridge and has the honor of being appointed as one of only 16 private citizens in the United States to be commissioned to plan for the 250th birthday of our Country. \n“In the tradition of all great vocalists\, Clairdee infuses her own unique style while always remaining true to the song itself.” – Nancy Wilson \n“Clairdee is the real thing. A beautiful voice – NPR \nAcclaimed for her inventive artistry and magnetic stage presence\, Clairdee’s lustrous voice\, and soulful delivery hearkens back to a time when jazz\, pop\, and rhythm and blues often blended seamlessly together. Combining scene-stealing charisma with heartfelt humility and a sincere belief in the transformative power of music\, she bridges the gap between generations with a repertoire of standards\, blues\, and originals set to state of the art arrangements that are equally smart and entertaining. With her impressive ability and ease in signing a variety of musical genres\, she performs with symphony pops\, orchestras\, and big bands\, and has opened for artists as diverse as David Sanborn\, the Count Basie Orchestra\, Johnny Mathis and the late great Etta James. \nClairdee is working on a new recording\, A Love Letter to Lena Horne\, in support of her concerts celebrating the legendary singer\, actress\, and activist. \nOur jazz quartet includes Ross Gualco on keyboard; Akira Tana on drums; Jeff Sanford\, sax; and Joe McKinley on bass. A swinging group indeed! \nLet’s not forget the other star of the show. The Venue! The Golden Gate Yacht Club achieved worldwide fame with the partnership between Larry Ellison of Oracle and the Club to win the America’s Cup in 2010. Come relax in a beautiful\, private and friendly venue on the Bay.

SUMMARY:Bioneers
DESCRIPTION:Mission\nBioneers is a fertile hub of social and scientific innovators with practical and visionary solutions for the world’s most pressing environmental and social challenges. \nA New Word\nFounder Kenny Ausubel coined the term Bioneers in 1990 to describe an emerging culture. Bioneers are social and scientific innovators from all walks of life and disciplines who have peered deep into the heart of living systems to understand how nature operates\, and to mimic “nature’s operating instructions” to serve human ends without harming the web of life. Nature’s principles—kinship\, cooperation\, diversity\, symbiosis and cycles of continuous creation absent of waste—can also serve as metaphoric guideposts for organizing an equitable\, compassionate and democratic society. \nA Leading Source of Innovative Solutions\nAs a 501c3 nonprofit organization\, we provide a forum and social hub for education about solutions presented through the Bioneers Conference and our programs. Our media productions leverage this content to reach millions of people around the nation and the world with our award-winning radio series\, Bioneers: Revolution From the Heart of Nature; anthology book series; television programs; and our interactive website. We act as a key source for the media\, including third-party films and the press. Our DVDs\, CDs and other educational materials are also used by colleges and schools and by community-based and other organizations to inform and inspire positive change at the local level. \nAn Annual Conference\nThe Bioneers Conference is a leading-edge forum where you can see tomorrow today: a future environment of hope. Social and scientific innovators focus on breakthrough solutions inspired by nature and human ingenuity.  These visionaries are already creating the healthy\, diverse\, equitable and beautiful world we want to live in—our legacy for future generations and the web of life on which our lives depend. You can connect with hundreds or thousands of engaged folks making a real difference. \nA Systemic Framework\nThe bioneers are engaged citizens from all backgrounds and fields who focus on solving our world’s most urgent problems within a framework of interdependence: It’s all connected. Just as the web of life is intricately interconnected\, so too are all environmental and social issues. We take a “solve-the-whole-problem” approach that is holistic\, systemic and multidisciplinary. \nA Network of Networks\nBioneers fosters connection\, cross-pollination and collaboration by bringing together diverse people and projects within a broadly progressive framework. We connect people with solutions and grow social capital for positive change by linking strategic networks on the local\, regional\, national and international levels. \nA Catalyst for Restoration\nSustainability is the dynamic midpoint between perpetual natural cycles of destruction and restoration. In this severely damaged and depleted world\, we need to tip the scales toward restoration\, regeneration\, and resilience to sustain the web of life for future generations. \nAn Oasis of Hope\nAs a celebration of the dazzling genius of people and nature\, Bioneers helps spark mass creativity and engagement. As the author and social entrepreneur Paul Hawken said\, “Bioneers is central to the re-imagination of what it means to be human.”

Although many human service agencies exist to address the basic survival needs of distressed children\, none has sufficient resources to focus on the youngster’s emotional and psychological needs necessary to help them cope with the deprivation and trauma of their daily lives. \nCaring For Children reaches out to provide direct emotional support to youngsters living in difficult circumstances\, offers technical support to front-line agencies\, and educates the public to the importance of preparing psychologically healthy children for future generations. \nTowards that end\, Caring For Children\, in conjunction with Sanville Institute and other educational institutions\, is offering a one-day special conference on Caring For Children in Crisis\, featuring nationally renowned trauma expert Dr. James Garbarino speaking on “Traumatized Children at Home and Abroad: How to Recognize and Treat Them.” \nDesigned for educators\, teachers\, nurses\, caregivers\, therapists\, counselors\, daycare and homeless shelter personnel\, this conference will educate caregivers as to the symptoms and needs of a traumatized child. \nQuestions and answers\, as well as two subsequent panels\, will follow the talk. The panels will be “Treating Traumatized Children at Home\,” addressing needs of homeless\, abused\, and foster children\, and “Treating Traumatized Children Abroad\,” which will look at the needs of refugee children. \nDr. James Garbarino is an emeritus professor of Psychology at Cornell University. He now heads the Department of Humanistic Psychology and The Center for Human Rights for Children at Loyola University. For more than forty years\, Dr. Garbarino has been the voice of abused and traumatized children. He has written over 19 books\, is the recipient of numerous awards\, and has served as a consultant and advisor to The National Institute of Mental Health\, the AMA\, and the FBI. \nCo-Sponsored by The SANVILLE INSTITUTE and CHILD WELFARE LEAGUE OF AMERICA \nFIVE CEUs AVAILABLE\, $15 PAID AT END OF CONFERENCE. \nFor more information\, call Samantha Grier\, MSW\, 415.448.6041. \nhttps://www.eventbrite.com/e/caring-for-children-in-crisis-conference-tickets-35614772744 SIGN UP NOW \nEnd Child Trauma Now \n375 Euclid Avenue\, #317   San Francisco\, CA 94118\n415.448.6041       Fax 415.751.2416        info@caringforchildren-worldwide.org \nCPA ACCREDITED: The Sanville Institute (CPA PAS SAN 150) is approved by the California Psychological Association (CPA) to provide continuing professional education for psychologists.
